ABOUT US
Elite films started out back in 1998 as S.M.S pictures, myself Shane Drury and my good friend
Steve Weighill were big horror movie fans, we had been fascinated by Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers,
Pin Head, Chucky, Leatherface, Freddy Kruger, and loads more movie maniacs since we were too young to even watch
them. we had started making masks and gloves and costumes for ourselves, and became quite obsessed with
wanting to make a fan horror film. over the years we just played around making silly short fake horror trailers etc,
technology then wasn't what it is now. as you know it was chunky video cameras, rubbish digital cameras and
not even the pc was much use. so we made do. by 2004 we had made loads of short fan films ranging from
ten minutes to thirty minutes, by then scream and the sequels were out so they were a big influence too.
we bought proper scream stalker costumes and made several blood soaked films of our own.
We made movie maniacs during that period too, which was our first proper feature film running at 1hr 30mins.
but it had no proper script and was rushed so it wasn't that great. it did have some excellent scenes, but over all
it was a bit confusing. it had a run online on our old site for a while but we decided to get rid of it because
we wanted something better. Around this time also is when we decided that a name change was needed,
it had to be something everybody would remember, so we came up with ELITE FILMS. halo was a massive influence
at the time because it was so epic and still is even today, so the logo will also be very memorable.
we decided to make a Jason movie, he was probably our biggest icon out of them all growing up and having
watched all the Friday the 13th movies a million times over we had to do our own version, in early 2005 I sat down
with a pen and came up with a short story in one day, we found a good location and made a fantastic costume. and just
went out and made it. and it was excellent you can check it out on the official page. we have waited a few years
now to learn from our mistakes and come up with something even better, technology has got miles better and so
have our ideas and we promise to deliver something fantastic in the future.
