ABOUT THE FAN FILM
We made Friday the 13th Jason Nemesis in the first quarter of 2005, we were all massive fans of
the Friday the 13th movies since we were kids and dreamed of making our own fan film some day.
I wrote most of the story on scraps of paper at work over the course of about a week. once we had a
basic outline of what we wanted to do we needed a costume, so we went out to the local charity shops
and bought some old clothes, trousers an old shirt, we found the most perfect jacket, we took them
home and began to rip cut and dirty them up, my friend Steve Weighill worked for about a week
making the mask and the full rotted head cover. once we had finished it looked fantastic! we knew
this was going to work, we found a great location in a local woods deep with thick trees, it was all
too perfect. it was a simple story that revolved around three main characters. the total cast was only four
people. you have to respect like most people we have no big effects budget or loads of money etc, so
these films are cheaply made. but we wanted it to be true to the Jason movies though and really be a
fan film that you can enjoy and I thought it was. it took about four long days back and forth to get it made
and it clocked up an average 50 minutes running time. I edited the effects and film age after and used a
score of proper music from the Friday the 13th soundtracks to make it more official to a fan watching.
for a total budget of about £50 I think it turned out brilliant and am proud of it. there were a few errors I know
but we cant be perfect, some of the dialogue was a little hard to hear at times because of the distance of
the microphone on the camera. occasionally the editing jumps here and there, but these are only small
things that will certainly change in the future, as small fan filmmakers we learn from our mistakes.
I'm sure there are other little things people will pick at too but that's ok, as long as there's people out
there who love it and respect it for what it is that's ok. its a fan film and I hope you enjoy watching
it as much as we enjoyed going out there and making it.
The film was online for a long period of time at one point but was removed.
